What began in the classroom has grown into a creative journey rooted in home and family.
I started my career in 2007 as a special education teacher, earning my Master’s degree and National Board Certification. In 2012, while balancing teaching and motherhood, I discovered a passion for crafting home décor—launching an Etsy shop that quickly landed in the top 1% of stores. By 2016, I stepped away from teaching to focus on motherhood and entrepreneurship, and in 2018 my husband joined me to build our family-run business from home.
That same year, DIY workshops in our garage sparked the idea for Project Home DIY, which launched in 2019 and has since empowered nearly 97,000 people to create spaces they love.
In December 2024, Project Home DIY evolved into The Towel Collective—a natural next step focused on beautifully designed, functional home essentials. We shifted from hands-on DIY projects to thoughtfully crafted décor, including our signature hand towels, while maintaining the same commitment to quality, creativity, and simplicity.
Thank you for being part of our journey. We’re excited to keep creating—simply and beautifully.
